Our Favorite Apple Orchards
Fall in Chicagoland isn’t complete without a trip to a local apple orchard. From picking your own apples to enjoying cider, donuts, and family-friendly activities, the suburbs and surrounding area are home to some of the best spots for celebrating the season. Whether you are looking for a place to make memories with your family or a fun day with friends, these orchards offer something for everyone.
Please note, we did not organize this guide by region given most of the farms and orchards we highlight are a bit farther out than the suburbs we typically cover. Please check out the map to find the locations near you.
All Seasons Orchard
A family-run orchard in Woodstock with over 16,000 apple trees. They offer apple picking, a 10-acre pumpkin patch, a fun barnyard play area with over 30 activities and a variety of tasty treats like caramel apples, donuts, cider, kettle corn and more. They do get pretty crowded on weekends during peak season so try to get there early or go during off-peak times.

Apple Holler
A massive 78-acre orchard in Wisconsin where you can spend an entire day with the family. They have over 50 varieties of apples to pick, in addition to a children’s park, restaurant, bakery, farm store and more. The Farm Park is open June through November with a play area, corn maze, pedal carts and friendly goats to feed.

County Line Orchard
A popular Indiana orchard that lures Chicagoland residents to make the drive with its delicious doughnuts, cider, pies, fudge and cookies. They also have U-pick apples, sunflowers and pumpkins. For the kids, they have a corn maze, a Moo Choo tractor ride around the property, and a kids farm.ead, pies and cookies are all available on site.

Edward’s Apple Orchard
A massive orchard in Poplar Grove with over 50,000 apple trees spead out across 100 acres. After picking apples, you can enjoy a delicious pulled pork sandwich and apple cider donuts (which we believe are some of the best around). They also have a great farm store with a huge variety of apple products, tasty treats and farm decor, and a small play area for kids.

Goebbert’s Pingree Grove
One of our favorite places to visit every Fall, with two locations in South Barrington and Pingree Grove. While Goebbert’s is known as a pumpkin farm, they do offer apple picking and their Fall Festival is a must visit for anyone looking embrace the fall spirit. They have a great restaurant, shop and U-pick apples and pumpkins. During Fall Festival, families can enjoy a huge play area, tons of animals to see and ride, pig racing, a corn maze and their famous pumpkin eating dinosaur.

Goebbert’s South Barrington
One of our favorite places to visit every Fall, with two locations in South Barrington and Pingree Grove. While Goebbert’s is known as a pumpkin farm, they do offer apple picking and their Fall Festival is a must visit for anyone looking embrace the fall spirit. Honey Hill Orchard
A family-run farm with over 25 varieties of apples to pick, along with U-pick berries and pumpkins. They also have a country store with apple cider, doughnuts, caramel apples and other tasty treats. For the kids, they have a play area, petting zoo, straw maze and wagon rides.

Jonamac Orchard
A three generational family farm with over 105 acres and 20,000 apple trees. In addition to picking apples, they have a Cider House where you can explore a variety of apple wines, hard ciders, and collaborative beers out on their relaxing cider garden patios (or rent a private campfire site). Keller’s Farmstand
Keller’s has three locations across the suburbs, with Oswego being their main farm where you can pick apples and pumpkins, or enjoy their fall festivities that include a corn maze, wagon rides, kids play area and more. Kuipers Family Farm
One of our favorite apple orchards in the Chicagoland area, which has gotten quite popular over the years for good reason. In addition to picking apples, they also have a pumpkin patch and sunflower field in the Fall, and host Tulip Fest and Dino Farm Adventure in the Spring and Summer. You can spend a full day at the farm where they have a huge play area kids, a great orchard shop and bakery, a variety of food and drink options, and more.

Royal Oak Farm Orchard
A massive farm near the Wisconsin border with over 20,000 trees and 30 varieties of apples to pick. They offer the full orchard experience with a kids playground, petting zoo, country store, bakery, train ride tours, carousel, and their super unique apple tree maze, which includes 1.5 miles of walking trails, 9 varieties of apples to pick, 3 activity areas, a central climbing tower, and games to play, and more.

Stade’s Farm and Market
A massive farm in McHenry with a wide range of apples to pick in addition to pumpkins, berries, flowers and veggies. They also have an entertainment area, including a petting zoo, corn maze, giant slides, hayrides, and a large variety of unique attractions. Their fall festival, Shades of Autumn, is a harvest time extravaganza featuring 40+ farm-related attractions, special events, great food, and lots of family-orientated fun.
