Fall in Chicagoland isn’t complete without a trip to a local pumpkin farm. From picking your own pumpkins to enjoying tasty fall treats and family-friendly activities, the suburbs and surrounding area are home to some of the best spots for celebrating the season. Whether you are looking for a place to make memories with your family or a fun day with friends, these farms offer something for everyone.

Please note, we did not organize this guide by region given most of the farms we highlight are a bit farther out than the suburbs we typically cover. Please check out the map to find the locations near you.

Abbey Farms

A fall favorite in Aurora that’s known for its annual Pumpkin Daze Festival, an exciting six-week celebration of all things Fall. Whether you're coming with family, friends, or on your own, there's fun for everyone across their farm's activities and attractions.

All Seasons Orchard

A family-run orchard in Woodstock with over 16,000 apple trees. They offer apple picking, a 10-acre pumpkin patch, a fun barnyard play area with over 30 activities and a variety of tasty treats like caramel apples, donuts, cider, kettle corn and more. They do get pretty crowded on weekends during peak season so try to get there early or go during off-peak times.

Bengtson’s Farm

Pick some pumpkins and experience the ultimate Fall festival at Bengtson’s with 25+ incredible attractions, 12 thrilling rides, endless photo ops, tasty treats and more! During their Fall Fest they also have a petting zoo, live music, pig races and other farm theme park experiences for the whole family to enjoy.

Dave’s Pumpkins

A hidden gem in Huntley that offers a low key DIY pumpkin experience. In addition to picking pumpkins offered for $9 no matter the size, they also have delicious cider donuts, a mini corn maze, pedal tractors for the kids and plenty of photo opps. On weekends, they offer a spooky hay ride, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin checkers, fog bubbles and more.

Didier Farms

Their Happy Times Pumpkin Fest is a Chicagoland favorite that features tons of family activities and attractions for all ages. The fest includes U-pick pumpkins, amusement rides, family shows, and of course everyone’s favorite fall treats such as apple cider donuts, fudge, and more.

Goebbert’s Pingree Grove

One of our favorite places to visit every Fall, with two locations in South Barrington and Pingree Grove. While Goebbert’s is known as a pumpkin farm, they do offer apple picking and their Fall Festival is a must visit for anyone looking embrace the fall spirit. They have a great restaurant, shop and U-pick apples and pumpkins. During Fall Festival, families can enjoy a huge play area, tons of animals to see and ride, pig racing, a corn maze and their famous pumpkin eating dinosaur.

Goebbert’s South Barrington

Heap’s Giant Pumpkin Farm

They include “giant" in their name due to their specialty in growing giant pumpkins, with their largest weighing in at 732 lbs! While there, catch a hayride out to their 25-acre pumpkin patch full of 90 different varieties of pumpkins, gourds, and squash! They also have tons of fall activities like a corn maze, farm animals, playground, tasty treats and more.

Keller’s Farmstand

Keller’s has three locations across the suburbs, with Oswego being their main farm where you can pick apples and pumpkins, or enjoy their fall festivities that include a corn maze, wagon rides, kids play area and more. Kuipers Family Farm

One of our favorite farms in the Chicagoland area, which has gotten quite popular over the years for good reason. In addition to picking pumpkins, they also have an apple orchard and sunflower field in the Fall, and host Tulip Fest and Dino Farm Adventure in the Spring and Summer. You can spend a full day at the farm where they have a huge play area kids, a great orchard shop and bakery, a variety of food and drink options, and more.

Siegel's Cottonwood Farm

Stade’s Farm and Market

A massive farm in McHenry with a wide range of pumpkins, apples, berries, flowers and veggies available to pick. They also have an entertainment area, including a petting zoo, corn maze, giant slides, hayrides, and a large variety of unique attractions. Their fall festival, Shades of Autumn, is a harvest time extravaganza featuring 40+ farm-related attractions, special events, great food, and lots of family-orientated fun.
